Good Reasons to Stop Smoking

Everyone knows that smoking is bad for you health. Yet people just keep on keep on smoking day after day. These people are addicted for sure, but the main issue is that they have not found a good enough reason to make them kick the habit for good.

Let's look at some lesser-known reasons to stop smoking that may convince you to give up cigarettes and kick the habit for good.

Are you having to struggle to pay some of your monthly bills? Do you realize that the average smoker spends just over $1,500 a year to buy cigarettes. Well, that money could certainly help the situation if you kicked the habit. I sure you work too hard just to see your money literally go up in smoke.

There is a lot of evidence that smoking can cause mental decline in elderly people. It increases the risk of Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia. Now I don't
know about you, but that's just plain scary to me.

Not only does smoking affect your heart and lungs, but your eyes as well. If going blind is something that you would like to avoid as you get older you need to consider the fact that the risk of blindness due to macular degeneration is four times as great for a smoker versus a non-smoker. That thought is enough to make a person choke
on their cigarette.

In my next post we will examine more good reasons to stop smoking - Kick the habit and spread the love, not the smoke.
